SJ Campus Design
With a site area of 28,699 sqm, SJ Campus serves as a gathering place for the wider community and supports wellness in the workplace for SJ’s 4,000 employees. Its architectural design, reminiscent of iconic structures like Marina Bay Sands and Jewel Changi Airport, is no surprise given it was designed by the renowned architect Moshe Safdie, in collaboration with SJ’s team of specialists.

Situated on a previously undeveloped greenfield site, SJ Campus’ design replaces built-upon green areas with rooftop gardens, lush interior gardens, and extensive exterior landscaping.
An iconic feature of SJ Campus is its cantilevered terracing block structures. These structures form self-shading terraces, reducing solar radiation by a significant 36%. SJ’s design and engineering teams pursued rigorous analysis and performance-based approach to develop this, aligning with SJ Campus’ key sustainability objectives.

Another cool thing about SJ Campus is its underfloor air distribution system, one of the largest in Singapore, which provides efficient cooling, improves indoor air quality and results in additional energy savings.
Other smart facilities management solutions include an Integrated Command Centre, where IOT devices leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to monitor energy, water, occupancy patterns and indoor air quality to optimise carbon management and improve productivity. SJ Campus is estimated to save 4.4 million kWh/year operational energy savings which is equal to avoiding 1,834 tons based on 0.4168 kg CO2/kWh grid carbon intensity from 2022 data.
On the renewable energy front, SJ Campus has successfully integrated a next-generation solar photovoltaic (PV) system using bifacial PV panels, which can produce clean energy when illuminated on either of its surfaces. SJ’s Energy & Industrial team aims to generate a combined energy yield of 389 MWh per year, equivalent to powering 120 three-room HDB flats every year!

To navigate the challenge of high heat and glare from the tall glass windows, a careful and strategic performance-based simulation was conducted to optimise the building massing which considers the windows on each side of the campus, the treatment and material of glass, and other shading optimisation strategies. The result is picturesque green views with less heat and glare, and overall thermal comfort.

SJ Campus was awarded the Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy certification by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), and the Green Mark Platinum for Healthier Workplaces certification by BCA and the Health Promotion Board. It is also WELL Certified by the International WELL Building Institute for having demonstrated a commitment to incorporate health and well-being features and practices.

The ten towers of SJ Campus are linked by a pedestrian spine, promoting easy connectivity, collaboration and community in the midst of lush nature. Multi-Purpose Room 2
Multi-Purpose Room 2 offers 196 sqm of customisable space that can be separated with a central divider. It accommodates up to 100 pax in a seminar setting with AV equipment and four TV screens. Adjacent reception and registration areas ensure seamless event facilitation and guest hosting.
Corporate Lounge 
Corporate Lounge is 80 sqm in space, perfect for VIP receptions before transitioning to the main event at Multi-Purpose Room 1. It is equipped with a TV screen that offers the option of livestreaming event proceedings from Multi-Purpose Room 1.
Green Room
Green Room is a luxurious 50 sqm room furnished with a karaoke system, massage chair, sofas, dining area, pantry, shower facilities and direct access to Multi-Purpose Room 1. It is tailored for hosting VVIPs, ensuring privacy and seamless transition to the main event venue. Accommodating up to 12 pax, the room is also suitable for performers to prepare for their performance.
Tropical Grove
Tropical Grove is a biophilic air-conditioned indoor garden. Spanning 450 sqm and accommodating 200 standing guests, it is a vibrant oasis for networking receptions, live band performances, and lifestyle bazaars amidst lush greenery. The Tropical Grove is also a great vantage point to marvel at some of the architecture and engineering innovations of SJ Campus.
Palm Grove
Palm Grove is another 450 sqm indoor garden surrounded by – you guessed it – palm trees, perfect for hosting 150 guests in a standing cocktail setting.
The Lounge
The Lounge is a unique café-like space with a view of trees from the Palm Grove, equipped with long tables for group meals, a range of vending machines and even a table tennis setup!
