‘Fika’ is Swedish for ‘Coffee Break’, and you’d be delighted to know that IKEA’s not the only place to get your Swedish meatball fix. With quite a handful of its branches scattered all over the island, TCC is a place that requires no further introduction. Known for its wide range of main courses on the food menu and its creative inventions on the beverage list, TCC”s environment is unlike that of many other coffee houses. As most outlets are spacious, its seating is hardly cluttered so you won’t be unintentionally eavesdropping, or eavesdropped on – for that matter.

4. Tiffany’s Cafe Esplanade

Being in the city centre and trying to find a quiet place to work is not as impossible as you think. Nestled in the Esplanade library is Tiffany’s Cafe, a hideout you probably never even knew existed. For this same reason, we would expect this warm and cosy cafe to stay just that– without huge crowds of customers swarming over the space. If the setting of a library doesn’t give you enough space and quiet to work with, then we don’t know what will!

5. 3 Inch Sin

If you’re a fan of desserts, then you’d be delighted to know that work and pleasure need not be mutually exclusive. 3 Inch Sin at Millenia Walk is a fairly small cafe that specialises in freshly baked chocolate cakes with playful fillings. They’re also best known for the molten lava chocolate cake, so be it dine-in with your company or takeaway, be sure to try some!
