6 Great Dining Venues for Father’s Day 2014

fathersday1

Father’s Day has got to be one of the most underrated occasions. I’m not kidding! Just think about it: Mother’s Day always has daughters and sons paying ridonkulous prices for bouquets of flowers, as well as daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws buying extravagant bird’s nest hampers.

Yet on Father’s Day, it always seem to be fairly quiet. Well, we can’t exactly blame men for sharing an exponentially lower adoration for flowers.

Fun fact: Father’s Day was an occasion created to complement Mother’s Day in the early 20th Century. Did you know that?!

Fun fact #2: A long distance carrier recording call volumes found that in 2006, people spent 48% more time calling home on Mother’s Day than on Father’s Day.

Sniff sniff. Fathers, please stop reading now while we think about how to make it up to you.

The good news is that Dads are rather easy to please. All you need to do is bring your Dad out for a good meal this Father’s Day, and spend some quality time over good food.

Who said cafe hopping is only for you and your friends/boyfriend? Taking your dad to the places you frequent can be a very refreshing experience for him – especially if your Dad is a busy man and can’t take a whole night out for the celebration. You can bring him to a quick brunch at this lovely cafe instead!

D’Good Cafe pushed out a Mother’s Day promotion some weeks back, and gave out flowers to diners who visited the cafe with their mums. Currently, they have an ongoing Father’s Day 1 for 1 promotion for 15 June, where you and your dad enjoy one complimentary main and drink when a main and drink of equal or greater value is purchased. Instead of flowers, the cafe is also offering instant photos for you to capture that memory of Father’s Day 2014! More details here.

Now that you have seen this list, you can’t simply unsee it and return to the same, old restaurant that you were planning to patronize again this year! (Editor’s note: Not that there’s anything wrong with the classics, but it’s always nice to change things up once in a while!)

Pick up your phone and make the reservations before these places fill up. We hope you and your father will have a roaring fun time dining out on this occasion.

After all, the way to any man’s heart is through his stomach – right?
