5 Special Places For Your Christmas Dinner

christmas dinner

Christmas in Singapore is often a hot and humid affair (as with any other day on this tropical island), and a white Christmas is just…impossible. So while the Americans are clad in coats and boots at Times Square on the eve, we are most likely going to be in sundresses or jeans. And while the westerners have traditional Thanksgiving gatherings before and fantastic Boxing Day sales after Christmas, we do not share that culture very much. We know Christmas is over once we hear Chinese New Year tunes play in every store.

But if there is one thing we can universally agree on – it would be that Christmas is a special occasion to spend time with the people we love, with good food and wine always part of the equation. This means that the 25th of December is the perfect excuse to pig out in the name of festive joy, and we would like to propose 5 buffet venues for that merry-making to take place.

1. Carnivore Brazillian Churrascaria (MBS, Dempsey, CHIJMES)

Calling all meat lovers! You can’t call yourself a legitimate meat lover until you’ve been to Carnivore. Whether is it chicken, beef, pork, lamb or fish, this place serves a spread of quality meats well-marinated and cooked to perfection by the chefs who will then present the meat on a skewer to you at your table. With 3 outlets conveniently located, you can take your pick for a Christmas gathering venue. If you’re dining at MBS, take a walk by the river and admire the city skyline. If you’re visiting the Dempsey outlet, enjoy a stroll at the nearby Botanic gardens. And if you’re having your gathering at CHIJMES, have a drink or two at the many bars within the vicinity after your wholesome meal.

Carnivore at Marina Bay Sands also introduces the Rio Tapas Lounge, a fusion food concept to provide diners with more alternatives, especially for the dessert course. If you’re not such a huge fan of meat, perhaps try the pastas or burgers there?
